Selwood celebrates triple success at the CPA Stars of the Future awards

Selwood

Selwood has been recognised at the CPA Stars of the Future Awards, celebrating the achievements of two outstanding apprentices and the company's commitment to developing the next generation of engineering talent.

Organised by the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA), the Stars of the Future Awards recognise exceptional apprentices and employers from across the construction plant and hire industry. This year's awards attracted the largest number of nominations in the event's 14 year history, making recognition even more significant.

Celebrating Apprentice Success

Two Selwood apprentice Pump Technicians were shortlisted for regional Apprentice Technician of the Year after being nominated by their colleges and tutors in recognition of their dedication, technical ability and outstanding progress.

Brodie Davies, based at Selwood's Glasgow branch, was announced winner of the Regional Apprentice Technician of the Year – Scotland award, recognising his commitment, technical skills and excellent progress throughout his apprenticeship.

Jared Thomas, an apprentice Pump Technician at Selwood's Leeds branch, was nominated in the Regional Apprentice Technician of the Year – North category, receiving a Highly Commended award, recognising the dedication and professionalism he has demonstrated throughout his apprenticeship.

    Recognised for Supporting Apprentices

Selwood also received the Employer Specific Support Award, recognising the company's commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive apprenticeship programme.

The award acknowledges the investment Selwood has made in supporting apprentices through initiatives including:

    • Neurodiversity awareness training

    • Mentor training for colleagues supporting apprentices

    • Ongoing management, guidance and wellbeing support throughout the apprenticeship journey

This recognition reflects the dedication of colleagues across the business who work closely with apprentices to help them develop both professionally and personally.
