Chemical Dosing & Mixing

The Siltbuster market-leading range of Chemical Dosing Systems enables the controlled and automatic introduction of process chemicals to safely treat even the most challenging of waters.

Whether it's the manipulation of pH to a user-set level, the precipitation of dissolved metal species to form insoluble particles, or the coagulation/flocculation of non-settling solids, our Chemical Dosing Systems ensure even the most stringent of discharge levels are met and exceeded.

A range of dosing and mixing solutions is readily available, tailored for various applications and sectors for optimal performance at a variety of different flows. And our expert and experienced team is here to help guide you through the various options available and to identify the most suitable and effective chemical treatment system for your site-specific requirements.

Raw water samples are an important stage in this consultation process, and they are quickly analysed by our in-house laboratory and team of environmental scientists.

Mix Tanks

Our mix tanks are available in a range of different sizes (MT1, MT2, MT4, MT8, MT20, MT30, and MT100) to provide the necessary contact and reaction time required for your desired treatable flow rate and contamination.

All tanks incorporate integral baffles that can be changed in position to suit the treatment philosophy, with the mixing of chemicals controlled via top-mounted variable speed mixer motors, making these units well-suited to applications where regulation of energy is paramount to the process.

To remove the need for further pumping, our mix tanks can be provided with support steelwork, allowing the flocculated wastewater to gravitate naturally to the separation/settlement stage if required.

Mix tanks are typically provided as part of a complete treatment package by providing dosing prior to separation in a Lamella Settlement Unit or a DAF, and are typically operated in conjunction with our Dosing Skids or Containerised Dosing Systems.  Our mix tanks can also efficiently pre-treat sludge ahead of dewatering.

Typical Applications: Reaction Tanks, Final Water Quality Monitoring, Sludge Storage, Buffer Tanks

Integrated Chemical Dosing Systems - iCDS

Siltbuster’s iCDS provides a compact, cost‑effective chemical dosing solution that delivers many of the capabilities found in larger containerised systems.

It features a standard three‑stage dosing setup for coagulants and flocculants, operating on a flow‑proportional basis to avoid overdosing, and can automatically adjust pH up or down. For more complex requirements, a fourth dosing stage can be added using an additional Siltbuster module.

The system includes a fully bunded chemical storage area with lockable, bi‑fold gates for easy access, and a heated, weather‑proof compartment housing the pumps, flow meter, and controls. Built for rapid deployment, the iCDS can treat flows over 100m³/hr, follows Siltbuster’s modular design principles, and fits standard transport layouts with multiple lifting options for straightforward loading and unloading on any site.

Key features: Secured Access, Rapidly Deployable, Compact, Modular Plug and Play Dosing, Low Power Requirements, Easily Adaptable to 3 or 4 Stage Dosing

Dosing Skid

The Siltbuster Chemical Dosing Skid comprises a space-efficient and splash-proof enclosure (housing) for the storage of dosing pumps and their associated ancillary equipment, provided in a range of configurations from simple flow-proportional dosing to automated polymer batching systems.

These compact, neat skids are provided with a bunded chemical spill tray which can be easily forklifted into position on site to ensure HSE guidelines are followed.

Dosing skids are typically provided as part of a complete treatment system and are used to meter the required process chemicals into a pipe flocculator or mix tank proportional to the incoming flow rate before separation via a lamella settlement unit or DAF.

Typical Applications: Automated Flocculant Makeup, Controlled Chemical Dosing, pH Correction

Containerised Chemical Dosing Systems

Siltbuster’s Containerised Chemical Dosing Systems, available in 10 ft and 20 ft ISO formats, provide a secure, space‑efficient way to house dosing equipment, in‑line mixing, treatment chemicals, and monitoring systems while preventing unauthorised access and vandalism.

Each unit includes flow‑proportional or pH‑proportional chemical dosing with complete plug‑and‑play connections for power and wastewater, supported by an operator access door and a roller shutter for quick, safe replenishment of multiple IBC chemical storage containers.

Designed to integrate smoothly with wider treatment processes, these systems can be paired with external Siltbuster Lamella Clarifiers, DAF units, or site lagoons to recover treated solids.

Containerised In‑Line Dosing Systems can be deployed as standalone assets or as part of a full treatment package, offering flexible, robust performance across construction, industrial, and water sites.

Pipe Flocculators

Although less used these days, Siltbuster Pipe Flocculators provide a secure and consistent method of effectively mixing treatment chemicals with wastewater. The use of in-line static mixers eliminates the need for powered mixers, minimising power requirements on-site.

As standard, our Pipe Flocculators come complete with 4 dosing ports allowing the sequential addition of a range of treatment chemicals. They are ideal for constant flow application, are available in a range of different sizes, and are typically provided as part of a complete treatment system before separation in a Lamella Settlement Unit or a DAF. As an optional item, in-line monitoring for common water quality parameters (pH, Turbidity, and Conductivity) can be built into the unit.

Typical Applications: Flow Proportional Chemical Dosing, Mixing using Static In-line Mixers, Flocculation, pH Correction
