Case Study
Barrel for life
We use a variety of cleaning products to keep our vehicles and pumps looking their best and running efficiently. Historically, many of these have been delivered in plastic containers and barrels, and as a result, single-use plastic waste has been a significant waste stream for us.
In 2024, we took action and introduced our new Barrel for Life system across our UK branches. This unique dilution system enables us to refill our barrels with the exact amount of product we need, saving money, limiting the need for manual handling, and reducing our plastic waste.
Since its introduction, we have saved 31,545 plastic bottles, equivalent to 2,611kg of CO2 saved. We’re thrilled with the results and are looking at other ways we might deploy similar solutions across the business.
